Terms & Conditions

The contract between Webico.co.uk and the client will be on these conditions to the exclusion of all other terms and conditions. Any variations to these conditions shall have no effect unless agreed in writing. The works to be carried out shall be as set out in the Webico.co.uk confirmation order e-mail.

Definition of terminology used within this document

‘Webico.co.uk’ website is owned by and represents a freelance web designer operating nationwide

‘Client' is person/s, business/es or organisation/s using any of the services provided by Webico.co.uk

‘Project' is any work undertaken or service provided by Webico.co.uk for the client on their request and as described in Webico.co.uk confirmation order e-mail to that client.

'Payment Period' is the time allowed by Webico.co.uk for receipt of all the money owed to Webico.co.uk by the client.

'Live Mode' is when a website is available on the clients chosen domain.

'Domain' is the website address as specified by the client.

'Hosting' is a yearly cost to keep a clients website activated online.

'Content' is both text and images that the client requires on the website.

Hosting & Domain

Any domain names registered by Webico.co.uk will be registered to the Webico.co.uk's trading address. Although the domain names are registered to Webico.co.uk, the client is the legal owner of the domain and if they request to have the details changed or the domain transferred elsewhere, Webico.co.uk will do this within reasonable time.

All new domain names registered by Webico.co.uk will have an expiry date after 1 year of being activated. It is the responsibility of the client to renew their domain names when due. If a domain name expires, Webico.co.uk cannot be held liable for this. However, Webico.co.uk will make reasonable effort to contact the client regarding domain renewal.

If a domain name is purchased by the client through a company other than Webico.co.uk, the client has full responsibility in making sure that the domain name is renewed when due. Webico.co.uk will not renew the domain name when annual hosting renewal is due if the domain name is purchased through a company other than Webico.co.uk

When a client renews hosting with Webico.co.uk, this also includes domain renewal if the renewal is needed to keep the site functioning and was purchased as part of the hosting package. If the client does not renew the hosting, their domain name could be made available to the public for purchase and Webico.co.uk cannot be held liable for that.

Renewal of hosting is due on a yearly basis. The date of renewal will be annually from the date the website was ordered by the client. The hosting will not be renewed if Webico.co.uk cannot contact the client or the client requests Webico.co.uk not to host this site.
The hosting renewal charge must be received within 10 days before the hosting expiry date. Webico.co.uk reserves the right to deactivate any website where the hosting has expired and the client has not paid the renewal charge. There will be an admin fee set by Webico.co.uk for reactivating the website / hosting.

If the client wishes to terminate the hosting and domain and transfer it to another provider, Webico.co.uk will do this for a specified admin fee at the time of the transfer.

If the client does not use Webico.co.uk hosting services then the management and hosting of the domain name are full responsibility of the client.

Project’s content

Webico.co.uk has no control of, or responsibility for, the content of Webico.co.uk clients' web sites. In no way does the textual or image based content of Webico.co.uk clients' web sites constitute Webico.co.uk endorsement, or approval of the web site or the material contained within the web site. Webico.co.uk has not verified any of the materials, images or information contained within Webico.co.uk clients' web sites and is not responsible for the content or performance of these sites or for the clients' transactions with them. Webico.co.uk provides links or references to Webico.co.uk clients' websites solely for the convenience of prospective customers and intends that the links it provides be current and accurate, but Webico.co.uk does not guarantee or warrant that such links will point to the intended client site at all times.

Webico.co.uk expects the client to carry out sufficient research before proceeding with a website. This will include checking that the website/idea/business will operate legally within UK law. It is important that the website is not in any way illegal. Any content including images, text, logo or business identities copied from another website and supplied to Webico.co.uk for use on their website is strictly prohibited, and in any such case, Webico.co.uk are not liable for this as the client will take full legal responsibility.

Webico.co.uk reserves the right to reject undertaking any project if feels it violates any of the above or the good moral standing.

Where images used on the website have been purchased by Webico.co.uk on behalf of the client, these images are strictly for use on the website only. Webico.co.uk is not liable for misuse of these images by the client or any other person copying, altering or distributing the images to individuals or other organisations.

All images displayed on the client's website will only be used after authorisation by the client and are the sole responsibility of the client regarding usage and copyright.

Should any legal issues or claims arise from the content or copyright of any images supplied by the client or Webico.co.uk, they will be the sole responsibility of the client.

Search Engine Optimisation

Webico.co.uk guarantees to submit client’s completed web site to Google search machine. Please note, there is no guarantee on how long it will take in total for a website to be included. It usually takes 1-2 weeks but it could take longer depending on the search engine crawlers. Still, Webico.co.uk does not guarantee any specific placement or high ranking on search engines at all times.

When a client choses a level 1 search engine optimisation, first results could be seen in Google after 6-9 weeks, where “result” means that some of the key words would become to appear on page 1 for some areas. Where the competition of an optimised web site is greater it would take longer, and level 2 or 3 optimisation might be needed, especially if no targeted visits campaign is undertaken.

One of the ways to get crawlers to find a web site and improve Google and other search engines ranking is by building links to this website. It is clients’ responsibility to register their web site in as many index or directory sites as possible and get all their friends or business colleagues to place a link on their websites.

Payments and prices

Webico.co.uk will only commence work on a project after receiving from the client 50 % deposit of the quoted project price. On client’s request the website could be switched to live mode once the deposit is paid while still under construction. The final 50 % payment and all other added by the client services or products - is any - are to be made on completion of the project. In case the client’s remaining balance is not paid in full, the website would be switched off.

The deposit paid to Webico.co.uk covers the cost of design and/or search engine optimisation work carried out and technical support. It is not possible to refund a deposit to the full once Webico.co.uk has started the design and/or search engine optimisation if the client wishes to cancel the project. Webico.co.uk reserves the right to decide whether a refund is applicable if requested by the client for any reason. A refund is not guaranteed by Webico.co.uk but possible providing Webico.co.uk decides upon this option.

Once the client has approved the creation of screen captures and the development of the website, then the client is fully liable for either the complete amount of the project cost, or an agreed termination fee for the work carried out to date.

Webico.co.uk owns all design and code of the website until final payment has been received in full. Once final payment is received, the client will then own the design and code of the website, full archive of which can be e-mailed to the client on his request.

Webico.co.uk provides 1 years free hosting for the client with any web site pack. To keep the website active after the first years, the client will need to pay annually a technical support fee that includes hosting, domain and up to 2 hour management. In doing so Webico.co.uk will endeavour to provide a reliable and professional service to the client at all times but do not guarantee that the website hosting will be available at all times, especially in the event of a technical failure beyond Webico.co.uk control.

When Webico.co.uk is ordered a search engine optimisation for a website not hosted with Webico.co.uk, for obvious reasons the full price is to be paid in advance.

Fair Work Policy

In an effort to provide greater value for client’s money the prices of web design and seo in Webico.co.uk website include linking back or referring to Webico.co.uk website in the form of text, image or banner. This rule is an inevitable part of Webico.co.uk fair work policy. Exceptions are only made against certain fee.

Webico.co.uk retains the right to use the completed project and any preliminary designs for the purpose of future publications on design, marketing materials, and portfolio.

It is part of Webico.co.uk fair work policy that if a project takes longer than 3 weeks to completion, any extra work is chargeable to the client at per hourly basis. This will be reviewed by management at the time of the extended period and all relevant matters and information relating to the delay will be taken into consideration.

Webico.co.uk shall make every effort to ensure the final product is free of any grammatical and spelling errors, before giving the final product to the client. It is agreed though, that it is the client's responsibility to ensure that there are no spelling or grammatical errors contained in the final product. It is agreed that Webico.co.uk is not responsible or held liable for any errors contained in the final product after the final product has been published in view of the public.

Webico.co.uk will provide the client with an expected project completion date (live on the internet) if requested. Webico.co.uk will endeavour to meet any given deadline, but Webico.co.uk does not guarantee and is not bound in any way to complete the project by this date.

Privacy Policy

Webico.co.uk is committed to protecting clients’ privacy and complies with the Data Protection laws applicable to the UK. Unless otherwise advised, only Webico.co.uk will have access to the information a client submits. Client’s details will not be passed or sold to third parties for marketing or mailing purposes.

Webico.co.uk uses the information collected about clients to process their requests and to provide them with a more personalised internet experience. Webico.co.uk may also use this information, occasionally, to tell clients about some progress and changes to the Webico.co.uk web site. If a client would rather not receive this information, he should indicate his wishes in writing to Webico.co.uk using e-mail, fax or post.

All correspondence and documents provided will be treated as confidential between the client and Webico.co.uk, unless both parties involved have granted consent.

Intellectual property rights

Unless otherwise stated, Webico.co.uk or Webico.co.uk’s licensors own the intellectual property rights and material in Webico.co.uk website. Subject to the licence below, all these intellectual property rights are reserved.
